This is for the parent that never had a friend, parent or anybody take them fishing. Inspired by a friend who has a son that started asking about fishing. My friend told me he didn't even know where to start. So this isn't for the guys that have legacies of family fishing. This is for the one that just wants a starting point. I learned pond fishing and some river fishing - but not the combat synchronized stuff seen in Washington State.
The Kit
Each picture links to the Amazon store item.
The Zebco 33 rod and reel combination is a really good place to start. Used them for years in the farm ponds of Oklahoma. Pick a superstore. This link is just an example. Rod and Reel Combo
Some standard fish hooks not really for Salmon - which requires barbless. These are again for starter pond fishing. Don't try to use these in a river that requires barbless.Hooks
Some easy snap on floats for bobber fishing. Yes there are better ones but we aren't really talking bobber stops and drift boat fishing.Bobbers
There are many types of fishing line. The basics for starts are best. Spider wire and fly rigs are way above the starter kit.Fishing Line
